Larry
Mills has worked with the
Holt Companies family businesses for 27 years. He worked closely with Drs.
Ken Blanchard and Michael O'Connor in the Managing By Values (MBV)
processes that formed the basis of transforming the Holt Companies into a
"living laboratory" for improvement of all aspects of leadership and
development. Larry founded Holt Consulting Services, Inc. in 1993. He has
developed some highly innovative leadership models which integrate
Values-Based Leadership into strategic planning, performance management
and ethical decision making. His contributions have been recognized by the
Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the American Society of
Training & Development (ASTD).
David
Johnson graduated from
the University of Wyoming with a B. Sc. in Petroleum Engineering. Prior to
this, he completed a Diploma in Petroleum Technology at the Southern
Alberta Institute of Technology. Dave has a diverse background in the oil
and gas industry, including experience in production, reservoir and
operations. He held managerial and executive positions with a junior oil
company prior to being hired by Luscar Ltd. in 1987. Mr. Johnson was
President of Luscar Oil and Gas Ltd. and was appointed President of Encal
Energy Ltd. in the summer of 1994. He is a member of The Canadian
Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum and The Association of
Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta
(APEGGA).
Dr. Thomas
Krause is CEO of
Behavioral Science Technology, Inc. (BST), a medium-sized firm
specializing in behaviour-based safety training and consulting,
headquartered in Ojai, California. Dr. Krause is a licensed psychologist,
co-founder in 1980 of BST and of the Behavioral Accident Prevention
Process technology. He has authored 2 books and over 30 articles on
behaviour-based safety. Dr. Krause received his Ph.D. from the University
of California at Irvine in 1977. He is a Professional Member of the
American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and has served on numerous
committees of the National Safety Council.
Charles
Morecraft had never had
an accident in his 15 years of work within a refinery. He knew what he was
doing. But one night, working overtime, he cut one corner too many.
Severely injured in an explosion, Charlie learned the hard way that
"accidents do happen". He represents the very real consequences of abusing
or ignoring safety practices. Remember Charlie. This simple slogan has
become a battle-cry for many workers who have had the experience of
listening to this remarkable man tell his story. Recovered from his burns,
his depression and his fears, Charlie founded Phoenix Safety Management
and travels the continent telling his story and inspiring others to take a
more serious look at safety and what it means to each of us.
